A-BOY

AH! Normally I don't post any process pictures of my work BUT I'm really excited about this one. I'm making a zine ALL about MYSELF. Because self validation, self love, and because DUH! As of now, this is the cover of the zine but nothing is finalized. I'm fucking stoked.

A true 80's Manchester middle class geek

As I was walking out of a coffee shops to catch the train home I felt that the air was no longer hotter than the devils dick like my friend Jasmin likes to say but actually chilly. Signs of winter coming and I was completely stoked. I started thinking of hot chocolate, staying inside forever, and winter clothes. Although I don't dress too crazy I started to brain storm of what I could wear. Everything I was thinking of was inspired by music videos and artist I'd admired.

Of course The Smiths were the first to come in mind and create the whole idea. In the music video "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before" you see a bike gang full of chaps who are all wearing a mix of jean jackets, blazers, and water proof bomber jackets over their Smiths shirt. I completely fell in love with the "The Smiths" and Morrissey's beautiful face patched onto the jean jackets. I'm definitely borrowing (keeping forever) the idea for this winter! Or I might as well steal the 80's Manchester poor village kid supported by the government look because I mean who doesn't want to wear vintage 50's men glasses and ride a bike.  Also as a huge fan of pins/button, someone who wears one or three everyday I'm most likely going to pin on a Sandi Shaw and a The New York Dolls button!

Without a doubt winter is all about being cozy, warm, and lazy when it's that time of day to get dressed. The Cure one of my absolute  favorite bands represents that in the most positive way ever! Over sized sweaters and t-shirts that Robert Smith wears oh so well is defiantly a way to stay warm, comfortable, and look good that doesn't take hours to figure out. Whenever I think of something that's both comfortable and lazy the image in my brain isn't something that I would wear in public but Robert Smith makes it look fashionably okay then again I know nothing about fashion but whatever.

The sun isn't shinning bright, so your clothes shouldn't either. When it starts freezing outside I just want to ditch and forget about all my color clothes because for some odd reason black seems so fitting for Winter not that it needs a holiday because black will always be the new black. And The Jesus and Marry Chain just motivates me even more. They all look so damn good!!!!

I wish I could write something more profound about clothes but this isn't a fashion blog. This idea of writing what I want to look like, wear just came in mind and thought it would be fun to write. I really hope I do pull through with all these ideas. Mainly, I just want a jean jacket with The Smiths patches all over the back! I'll keep you updated when I make mine. I assure you it's going to be fucking rad!

A Newbie + Frida

If anything I'm super stoked about this blog. I have so many ideas flowing in this brain of mine for posts but for now I'm stocking up with a bunch of Frida Kahlo information and cool stuff because how could you not?! Like look at these RAD FRIDA TATTOOS I bought and tattooed on myself...

also these stickers, and a book too...

I almost forgot about this gem. This was actually gifted to me by my Physic and Math teacher freshmen year. My teacher over heard me talking about how much I love Frida and told me he visited her museum in Mexico City. The next day he came with this bookmark and said, "No, you can have it" how freaking cool, huh?

And now I feel like this is too long of a post for my first post, ha. Soooooooo peace. J
